Imperial Beach is one of the last sleepy beach towns in San Diego County. The creations of Imperial Beach range from fairytale castles to science-fiction landscapes to fantasy mermaids and other inspired forms. All weekend long blasting parties goes on with a street fair on Saturday and main event on Sunday, but its fruits do not. Unavoidably, the tide comes in and washes the beach clean again. Imperial Beach is an integrated city and a mainly residential one with a variety of homes and condos. Imperial beach homes and condos are in plenty in this the long beach where surfing, body-boarding and swimming are good and popular throughout the summer. You can chill in a fun seafood restaurant on the end of the pier and other attractions around Portwood Plaza at the end of Evergreen Avenue. The fishing pier, grassy parks, public sports facilities and year-round lifeguard service make Imperial Beach a popular choice among South Bay residents and visitors alike. Tijuana Sloughs and Border Park are the large and largely impassible marsh areas south of Imperial Beach Blvd.  Swimming is not allowed in this beach and it has very little to offer. But no one deny Imperial Beach’s Environmental appeal as it provides the estuarine lagoons and river mouths which includes a National Wildlife Refuge of special interest to bird-watching fanatic, and the parks service offers guided nature hikes and visitor information.
